Dine Local charges $75, $100 or $250 a month ($750 or $1,000 a year for the first two), and online card payments carry a 5% payment-processing fee on the order total including tax and delivery, through Stripe, according to its pricing page. Platovo charges $79.99 a month, and card payments cost Stripe's 2.9% + C$0.30. Dine Local's entry subscription is lower; above about ten C$40 card orders a month, its 5% payment fee makes Platovo the lower total.

When Dine Local is the better choice
- You take fewer than about ten card orders a month, or customers mostly pay cash, so the lower subscription matters more than the payment rate.
- You want delivery tracking, Google review management or group ordering.
- You want a managed website on the higher tiers.
When Platovo is the better choice
Platovo gives an independent restaurant its own branded ordering page with 0% commission for $79.99 a month (CAD or USD, plus tax). Card payments go to the restaurant's own Stripe account at Stripe's rate (2.9% + C$0.30 per domestic card in Canada). It includes pickup and staff delivery with zones and fees, scheduled orders, an Android kitchen app with repeating alerts, Epson printing, promotions, win-back offers and branded marketing content.
On a C$40 order, Stripe's fee is C$1.46 and a 5% fee is C$2.00 before tax. That C$0.54 per order passes the C$4.99 difference from the C$75 plan at about ten orders a month, and keeps growing after.
What Platovo does not do
- No POS integration. Orders arrive in the Platovo kitchen app and dashboard, not in your point-of-sale system.
- No branded customer app or loyalty points. Customers order on the web; repeat business comes from offers and emails.
- No drivers. Orders are pickup or delivered by your own staff.
- Newer and smaller. Platovo is a young company built in Ontario, without the review history of larger providers.
