How to add your own "Order online" link to Google

In your Google Business Profile, open Food ordering, add your ordering page as a link, and set it as preferred for pickup and, separately, for delivery. Google then shows your own link first when people order from your profile on Maps or Search, instead of a delivery app that charges you commission.

Why it matters

Many takeout orders start on Google: someone searches your name or "pizza near me", sees your profile and taps Order online. If the only options there are delivery apps, a customer who was already looking for you becomes an order you pay 20–30% commission on.

Google lists delivery apps on your profile automatically when you are on them. Your own link has to be added, and it has to be marked preferred, for pickup and for delivery, to be shown first.

Step by step

  1. Open your Business Profile

Search for your restaurant on Google while signed in to the account that manages it, or open business.google.com.

  2. Select Food ordering

Make sure Accept orders on your profile is on. If it is off, Google hides every ordering link, including yours.

  3. Add your link

At the bottom of the list, select Add a link and paste your ordering page address, for example www.platovo.com/r/your-restaurant.

  4. Set it as preferred

Select your link, then Set as preferred. Turn on Preferred for pickup, and Preferred for delivery if you deliver with your own staff. They are separate switches. Save.

  5. Add it as your menu link too

In the profile's Menu section, use the same link so people browsing the menu can order from it.

These steps follow Google's own help article, Manage online ordering options. Google may take a few days to show changes.

Common problems

  • My link shows for pickup but not delivery. Preferred for pickup and for delivery are separate. Turn on delivery as well, but only if you deliver.
  • A delivery app is still listed. You can remove a provider in Food ordering: select it, then Remove link. Google says providers must remove their link within 5 business days of your request.
  • My website button still goes to an app. Fix your website too: see adding an Order online button to your website.

Questions restaurants ask

Does Google charge for ordering links?

No. Adding your own ordering link to your Business Profile is free.

Will setting my link as preferred remove the delivery apps?

No. Preferred links are shown first; the others stay unless you remove them. Many restaurants keep apps listed for delivery and prefer their own link for pickup.

What link should I use with Platovo?

Use the Google link in the Direct ordering links section of your Platovo dashboard, which has a copy button. It opens your ordering page and lets Platovo count how many orders come from Google.
